The free online tool Storify is enabling journalists to tell stories through the curation of citizen’s posts on Twitter.
Register Citizen Community Engagement Editor Kaitlyn Yeager used it to tell the visual story of a huge snowstorm that hit Northwest Connecticut in early February. She turned to The Register Citizen’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and websites to encourage readers to post their photos of the storm to Twitter using the hashtag #RCSnow.
Storify enables you to collect and embed a category of Tweets like that in a format that can be embedded on a web page.
In late March, Register Citizen Sports Editor Dan Podheiser used Storify to capture the reaction of fans from Northwest Connecticut and the University of Maryland to news that former Torrington High School star Jordan Williams planned to leave college and declare for the NBA Draft.
